Trip of a lifetime: San Francisco
The city by the Bay.
San Francisco is throwing off her foggy cloak and welcoming a summer in a blaze for a few days.
The weather is perfect when you walk everywhere or cycling on the Golden Gate Bridge. The wind keeps you cool and you are delighted to stop by all these cute coffee shops. Because you can learn about coffee… Constantly changing, full of intrigue, disgustingly rewarding, coffee is different everywhere and it can make your day absolutly great while you are visiting.
The city has a special atmosphere, you have to be an artist, to have an arty soul… Culture is everywhere, bookstore, art galery, museums…
Social food is a big part of it too. For a foodie dreamer, the French break bakery with a curious and independant restaurant who tried to cook for you something different and special craps me up.
As a tourist, I went to the most famous place. The waterfront marketplaces and the Wharf’s famous fishing fleet make my visit splendid. Fishing boats, sea lions basking in the sun, seafood stalls, steaming crab cauldrons, seafood restaurants and sourdough French bread bakeries …
One of the most photographed locations in San Francisco, Alamo Square’s famous « Painted Ladies » is indeed a visual treat. A tight, escalating formation of Victorian houses is back-dropped by downtown skyscrapers, and the grassy square is an ideal midday break.
According to me, what is unforgotable about SF is this haze mixed by rococo architecture and bohemian lifestyle.
