10 Steps to Enjoy More Adventures this Year

AdventuresHow can you be more adventurous in your every day life ? Let’s see how you can push your limits without even have the feeling to really doing it. To be excited by something is already a great start, now you just have to try it… Let’s do it baby, 2016 is the YEAR of change !

1. Try new Adventure Activities

I’ve tried rock climbing last year and I have to say I just love it now. By trying something outside of your comfort zone is a very nice way to be adventurous! There are so many different activities you can try like kayaking, rafting…

2. Make new friends

By making new friends out of your circle, it can be a wonderful challenge. If I didn’t sign on the Polyglot Website to make new international friends in Paris, I wouldn’t have meet Bridgette and Adam who actually introduced me to my husband and I won’t live in Chicago!

3. Learn a new language

It isn’t easy learning a new language, but it can be an amazing opportunity to learn more than a language. The culture and a body language who are coming with a new language are really interesting to learn as well.

4. Spend more time outside

It can be small things as a picnic or a little hike. However, to be outside is so refreshing Just get outdoors and see the sunshine!

5. Say “YES” to new activities

…to everything. To all things. Say your friends want to go paddle boarding and you hate the ocean… guess what? You’re going! The only way to conquer fears is to actually face them. Say yes to more things, even if you don’t think you’ll enjoy them. You never know ’til you try!

6. Try new foods

Last year, my boyfriend introduced me to veggie burger, sunflowers seeds, quinoa… Today, I won’t go a day without these new discovery! It’s so great to experience the world only by food and guess what… No need to go to Japan to have sushis. Let’s have some adventures with Indian, Mexican, African cuisine!

7. Go somewhere new every weekend

Just because you can’t always jump on a plane to foreign lands doesn’t mean you can’t explore more this coming year. Think closer to home – like a day hike in a national park, a trip to the lake or just a picnic in your local park. Exploring where you live can be just as exciting as going to somewhere on the other side of the world.

8. Learn a new skill

This year I plan to do more creative activities like painting! I realize how I used to feel so relaxed after.

9. Book a last minute trip somewhere

We live in a society where everything has to be listed and over-thinking. Its nice to just jump on a plane without any ties once you arrive. Sometimes without any plan you can see amazing places that you won’t ever find in your guide book!

10. Get off your beaten track

Each day can start to feel monotonous. By sticking with this routine, we close ourselves off to new opportunities for adventure. Try taking a different route during your daily routines. Hop on a bike to work or catch the local bus, which, let’s face it, is always packed with interesting characters.
