Kentucky for Memorial Day: Louisville

It’s been almost 3 months, Ryan and I went there but I’ve wanted to talk about this 3-days trip. We drove 5 hours, the weather was really beautiful and the road pretty smooth. We did visit Mohammed Ali center and that was literally one week before he passed away. We drove around and visited a glass factory, a bourbon distillery and didn’t get drunk! We went to the Baseball museum but didn’t assist to the tour. The first evening, I naively asked to go to Hooters! Ryan was a bit embarrassed but I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant. We went to our first derby together, that was pretty lay back, nothing too fancy. That was really great to see beautiful horses and to pretend to bet some money.

I loved our last night as we went to a great restaurant  with a wonderful balcony just next to the river. We had typical American accompanied by a music band. The singer reminds us of Jason Mraz.

The city was decorated with a huge poster of celebrities born in Kentucky. Jennifer Lawrence was one of them. Louisville is not an amazing city, I imagine it can be boring to live there but I am guessing there is a lot of outdoor activities like the trampoline one we did!

Just before to head back to Chicago, Ryan showed me a cute city in Indiana and very famous in the architect world: Colombus! It’s amazing because the city has been built by the most important architects in the world. If you are looking for to do something different while in Kentucky/Indiana/Illinois, go there, you won’t be disappointed.
