Air Transat Airline Review

After working for a little while with Air Transat, I’ve seen what goes on behind the scenes of an airline company.
With more and more French people living in Quebec and more and more Canadians wanting to discover Europe or head south during the winter season, Air Transat is the airline for Canadians.

Why does Air Transat only use Airbus A330 and A310 aircraft for European destinations and Boeing 747 aircraft for destinations down south?

The flight capacity for Europe is greater than that of south flights, plus a flight to Europe lasts about 8 hours while it only takes 4 hours to fly south.

Why does Air Transat provide free meals on transatlantic flights but not south flights?
Considering that it takes longer to get to Europe than the south, a free meal is more than welcome, especially with the jetlag.

How can I save money with Air Transat?
The earlier you book, the better the price! Air Transat is really good at creating amazing packages and special offers. Don’t forget to follow them on social media, as they sometimes organize great contests.

Air Transat’s strength is its direct flights from Montreal to Toulouse, Lyon, Barcelona and more. The company is an integrated international tour operator that caters to families, couples and solo travellers alike. Their network is based on 60 destinations in over 50 countries.
Despite having highly competitive fares that rival other low-cost carriers, Air Transat flights come with added benefits when booking an Option Plus upgrade, which provides extra privileges in Economy Class. Club Class is also available for maximum comfort and benefits.

Traveling by buses is maybe not sexy but it can be way cheaper than by train and pretty convinient. Usually the bus station is very well situated in a city.

Quebec has a pretty good bus network between different companies which shares differents routes. Orleans Express to name one is really good and their buses are newer and more confortable than Greyhound.

Have you ever traveled with Greyhound? Really cheap but disgusting. I don’t like this company because there are always, always late. Especially if you have to across the Canadian border.

I traveled many times with Mega Bus to go in Toronto from Montreal. A very good company and not too expensive too.

One more thing, buses companies have usually a good Wi-Fi connexion which can be a great distraction while traveling North America.

So, if you want to save your money and you don’t care about to waste your time, travel by bus!
